Waseem ‌learned‌ ‌the‌ ‌craft‌ ‌from‌ ‌his‌ ‌father‌ ‌who‌ ‌was‌ ‌himself‌ ‌a‌ ‌“national‌ ‌treasure”‌ ‌and‌ ‌belongs‌ ‌to‌ ‌a‌ ‌line‌ ‌reaching‌ ‌back‌ ‌over‌ ‌450‌ ‌years‌ ‌to‌ ‌Ustad‌ ‌Karim‌ ‌Ali,‌ ‌a‌ ‌famous‌ ‌artist‌ from the Mughal times. ‌His‌ ‌craft‌ ‌shows the ‌beautiful‌ ‌lacquer‌ ‌work‌ ‌in‌ ‌intricate‌ ‌traditional‌ ‌patterns.‌ ‌‌
The‌ ‌style‌ ‌requires‌ ‌days‌ ‌of‌ ‌work,‌ ‌strenuous‌ ‌procedure‌ ‌and‌ complex ‌colour‌ ‌work‌ ‌to‌ ‌make‌ ‌the‌ ‌finished‌ ‌product.‌ ‌Along with Waseem, his wife & daughters ‌have ‌been‌ ‌practicing‌ ‌the‌ ‌art‌ ‌for‌ ‌more‌ ‌than‌ ‌three‌ ‌decades‌ ‌and‌ ‌hope ‌to‌ ‌keep‌ ‌the‌ ‌art‌ ‌alive‌ ‌past‌ ‌his‌ ‌own‌ ‌life.‌‌ ‌Their work‌ ‌has grown ‌through‌ ‌ages‌ ‌as‌ ‌a‌ ‌rich‌ ‌heritage‌ ‌of‌ ‌this‌ ‌land‌.‌‌ ‌

Ehsan, proudly locates his ancestral crafts to come from a lineage belonging to district Haripur in Northern Pakistan. Ehsan traces his skills back to his roots as stonework is his family business and his forefathers spent their lives creating well crafted art pieces.
Their magnificent art pieces have graced many displays in Pakistan. They exhibit one-of-a-kind stone carved pieces which have been passed down over the generations as a rich heritage of Pakistan.
